Hillside Landscaping Project
Before

This was a challenging project. The slope was very steep, and the soil conditions were poor. The area was over 75 feet across, and about 30 feet from top to bottom. However, a beautiful stone wall at the bottom of the slope provided an excellent framework from which to build. A neighbor's house is seen at the left.
After

The project included the installation of several 6 to 8 foot spruces and firs at the top of a slope as a privacy screen. A line of 15 flowering shrubs just above the existing stone wall offers color in spring. The customer chose rhododendron and mountain laurel. Thirty Creeping Juniper solved the problem of covering the large slope. A collection of over 100 daylillies on the far left blooms all summer.

These photos are taken 1 year after the installation of a perrenial garden on a small hillside. The customer chose a widely varied mix off perennials, including daylillies, ladys mantle, sedum, catmint, roses, false indigo, and lots more. This project included a 6' Pink Dogwood tree, some small shrubs including Azalea, Boxwood, and Purple Gem Rhododendron.
